Netflix‘s ‘Marriage or Mortgage’ is a new series that has couples deciding between their dream wedding or dream house. They bring in a wedding planner and real estate agent to try to sell them on a wedding or a home.

You can see the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“Married or single, we’ve all heard it. “You could buy a house for the price of that wedding!” But have you ever stopped to think, what if you actually did?”

However, a lot of viewers think the answer is obvious, a home. A home lasts a lifetime and seems like the better investment. “I seriously do not understand the appeal of big, over-the-top weddings. It’s just not necessary. Where you’ll live, on the other hand, is necessary”, “A wedding day or a potential ‘forever home’. How is this a hard decision? So damn silly.”, “I’ll say it: spending Mortgage Money on a wedding is like spending your college tuition on a rave. Think of the kind of person you have to be to sink $250K (or more) on a party. These are the kind of people that give prosperity a bad name.”, “how is that even a dilemma for anyone? I’m totally gonna watch just to call anyone who chooses the wedding an idiot XD” and “Paying the mortgage is more important”

Viewers have spoken and it’s unanimous. Spending your money on a home that you will grow a family in or spend a lot of years together in is clearly more important to a lot of people.

What do you think? Would you choose the dream wedding or the dream home? Let us know in the comments below.
