‘Vanderpump Rules’: Boyens, who featured on season eight of Vanderpump Rules as part of the ‘new wave’ of younger cast members–only to be fired after one season, has now quit his day job, as well. Boyens was a polarizing character with many viewers turned off by his inflated ego.
Fans of the show barely raised an eyebrow when the 27-year-old was fired due to his racist tweets when Bravo went through their “cleaning house” phase last summer. Max Boyens did, however, stay within the Vanderpump family, keeping his job as bar manager at Tom-Tom, Vanderpump’s joint venture with long time series stars Tom Sandoval and Schwartz.
‘Vanderpump Rules’: Max Boyens Quits Job at Tom Tom, Claims Boss, Lisa Vanderpump is “Cheap”.
Though Vanderpump Rules season nine has begun filming, Tom Tom remains closed. This is a setback that led to a heated exchange between Boyens and his bosses Vanderump and Vanderpump’s husband, Ken Todd.
Boyens, who has worked for Vanderpump and Todd for years accused the restauranteurs of being cheap, not providing health care or proper salaries for their staff.
According to an insider, Boyens was furious that, “They wouldn’t give him health insurance or the salary he wanted. After years and years of hard work, he had enough when they still wouldn’t even value him enough for health insurance.” The source went on to explain, “Lisa doesn’t provide any staffers with healthcare.”
It is confirmed by Boyens rep that he quit his job over the weekend. However, with Tom Tom being closed throughout the pandemic, it’s unsure what he is quitting.
Last month, rumors swirled that the LA hotspot would shut down permanently due to financial issues following pandemic closures. Several money struggles surrounding Vanderpump and her restaurants including a lawsuit of $100,0000 in unpaid produce have been reported.
One of the couple’s establishments, Villa Blanca has closed its doors for good but Tom Tom manager Richardson Chery confirmed that the restaurant/bar will eventually reopen its doors with some big changes.
He explained: “Slow and steady wins the race. But cleaning a years’ worth of dust and such is a process. It’s a lot to clean, it’s been a full year!” Chery promised changes in both the food and drinks menu along with an expansion and makeover to their outdoor dining area. Oh, and a clean bar!
