Jamie Foxx has apologized for his alleged antisemitic comments about how “Jews” killed Jesus on social media, saying a false buddy duped him. The actor wrote in a letter on Instagram on Saturday, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post.”
Reading the original post doesn’t seem anti-Semitic at all, and originally looked like a post about watching out for who your friends are. This anti-Semitism seems to be constructed by people’s own twisted interpretations, however, Foxx still made a video anyway apologizing for his post after being grilled by everyone including Jennifer Aniston.
Jamie Foxx Faces Backlash From Alleged “Anti-Semitic” Post, All Smoke Or Fire?
You might be aware that on Friday, Jamie made an Instagram post in which he said, “They executed this man called Jesus… What do you suppose they’re going to do to you? Before individuals could take screenshots and upload it on social media, the message was quickly erased.
Jennifer Aniston became interested in the message when Jewish organizations started to distribute it online. The actress initially denied liking Jamie’s message and subsequently said she was appalled by his remarks.
Jennifer said, “I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds – I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.”
While he may have apologized, we don’t think there was any ill-intent in the post. It seems odd that people immediately went to anti-Semitic but, we’re in 2023, but here we are.
