Deshaun Watson has been informed of his fate; following a settlement with the NFL, the contentious quarterback has been suspended for 11 games this season.

The Cleveland Browns star has received a new penalty from the league, which states that in addition to a longer suspension, Watson also agreed to pay a $5 million fine. The NFL also stated that the 26-year-old “will promptly undergo a professional evaluation by behavioral experts and will follow their treatment program.”

As he addressed the settlement, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stated that Deshaun “has committed to doing the hard work on himself that is necessary for his return to the NFL.” This settlement entails following a detailed evaluation and treatment plan, paying a sizable fine, and getting suspended for a longer period of time.

Betting On Yourself Is More EGREGIOUS Than SEXUAL ASSAULT According To The NFL: Suspends Deshaun Watson 11 Games

This is a gross miscalculation in our opinion as Calvin Ridley was suspended an entire year for betting on himself and his team to win! A sports bet! TO WIN. That is punishable by a year suspension, however, groping women and sexual assault only constitute a fine and an 11-game suspension.

The NFL needs to do a better job at deciding their punishments as they look like complete clowns with this suspension. These two cases couldn’t be far enough apart, yet when it comes to punishment, the sexual assault case gets less? I think Deshaun has gone down in a lot of people’s books and his career may continue, but many people have lost respect for him.

Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, spoke on the case saying, “Deshaun has always stated he is innocent of sexual assault. Nothing has changed in what he said. He also said he is remorseful, the decisions he made have created this situation. The settlement allows him to move forward with his life and career.”

What do you think? Can you believe that Deshaun only got an 11-week suspension and should they take a look into Calvin Ridley’s case again? Let us know in the comments below.
