Alec Baldwin is now claiming that he is losing work because of the shooting that happened on set of his film ‘Rust’. In a new interview with CNN, Baldwin said the backlash against him has cost him 5 jobs since the shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injury of direct Joel Souza in October 2021.
Baldwin said that he had gotten fired from a new gig, “I got fired from another job yesterday. There I was all set to go to a movie, jump on a plane … I’ve been talking with these guys for months and they told me yesterday we don’t want to do the film with you because of this.”

Baldwin continued in his remarks by claiming that the threats from supporters of the late president Donald Trump have contributed to his high level of personal stress as a result of the Rust tragedy. After his wife Hilaria Baldwin, who is currently expecting their seventh child, expressed her support, he thought about leaving the entertainment industry altogether.
He then went on to say that his wife has been his rock and without her he is not sure what in his life he would be, “If I didn’t have my wife, I don’t know where I would be right now. If I didn’t have her, I probably would have quit, retired, gone off, you know sold everything I owned, got a house in the middle of nowhere and just you know did find something else to do, sell real estate.”
Baldwin accidentally pointed a pistol at the camera while practicing a gunfight on the Rust set. The pistol discharged a round that hit Souza and killed Hutchins. Baldwin maintains that he did not pull the trigger and was unaware that the gun contained a live round.
