First, let’s talk Leo’s family. His niece, Leslie (Assira Abbate) has a bit of a problem. It feels like we’re watching one of those 90s teen dramas. It’s kind of boring, to be honest, and we’ve been mostly ignoring this story. However, we guess it’s about time to talk it a little bit.
The deal with her is, she’s been skipping school. She finally admitted that she’d slept with a boyfriend. The thing is, he taped them and then shared it with everyone.
She’s embarrassed and doesn’t want to be anywhere near the school. This finally came out after another family issue we’ll get to in a second.

In related news, Imperio de mentiras spoilers indicate the family has another problem. José Luis Velasco Rodríguez (Hernán Mendoza) and Leo rescued Majo. However, José Luis got shot while trying to protect Leo from one of the suspects.
He ended up in surgery, and Teresa (Pilar Ixquic Mata) wasn’t having it. She’s about at the end of her patience with his work. They got into it a bit about her always having to worry about him when he leaves for work.
We have a feeling it will end up causing a much worse problem between them in the future. Because Majo may be safe now, but there’s no way this is over. Mark our words, he’ll be in danger again and it’ll probably be his boss’ corrupt fault.

Meanwhile, we had some problems for Elisa. The word’s spread that Elisa knew Majo was kidnapped and she’s been lying about Leo being her boyfriend. Plus, that she lied about the trip she and Leo supposedly took.
This is not sitting well with Victoria Robles de Cantú (Leticia Calderón), who doesn’t want to hear about the reasons why Elisa lied. Which we feel is totally unfair. For her part, Majo still buys into the “Elisa did nothing” argument Darío Ramírez (Iván Arana) gave and didn’t to see her. Not even while she gave her statement about the kidnapping.
However, there’s one person who seems to be on her side. Renata Cantú Robles de Arizmendi (Susana González). She actually showed some support for her sister, which is clearly the work of Leo.
We’re curious how this will play out ever time. We hope Elisa will take Renata’s advice about not letting their mother treat her the way she does Renata will stick. Elisa needs a backbone. Yesterday.

Finally, there’s Gilberto Tapia (Carlos Aragón). He’s under orders to do something about the investigation into the kidnapping. So, Gilberto broke protocols by interviewing Majo without a representative and/or family member around.
We can just imagine what he’s going to do with any statement she gives. Or how he’ll manipulate stuff out of her.
We have a feeling that before long Leo realizes something isn’t right and the investigation turns to Gilberto. We’re actually looking forward to this.
