There’s a new report that says Travis Scott was absolutely distraught after finding out that 8 people had died and hundreds more were injured during his Astroworld concert in Houston on Friday night.

Even though there are some reports that suggest Travis kept performing even after the chaos, sources say that the rapper was clearly upset and in tears after he found out what really happened after everything had transpired. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Page Six, one source close to the situation put it this way, “He stopped the concert to make sure people were okay. There is video of him carrying on when one person was carried off, but he didn’t realize what was going on. When he did he stopped the concert.”

The tipster added, “He’s really upset — he had no idea what was going on, he was on stage performing. He’s beside himself, I’ve never heard him like that. He was in tears.”

The crowd surge, during a performance by the rapper Travis Scott, “caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries,” the city’s fire chief, Samuel Peña, said Saturday morning. The concert was part of the Astroworld music festival, a two-day event that began on Friday. About 50,000 people were there on Friday night, according to the Fire Department.

At least eight people were killed, ranging in age from 14 to 27, and dozens more were injured. Of the 25 people who were taken to hospitals, 13 remained hospitalized Saturday, and five of the injured are under 18. A 10-year-old among the injured is in critical condition. More than 300 people were also treated throughout the event Friday at an on-site field hospital.
