Following the tragedy at Astroworld in Houston during Travis Scott’s performance, speculation is emerging over whether the star could be criminally liable.

Could Travis Scott Be Held Criminally Liable Following The Deaths At His Astroworld Concert?

The incident left a reported eight people dead, with many others injured in what was a traumatic incident. Given that Travis was the founder of the event, all eyes have now turned on him with serious questions being asked over whether he had done enough to prevent such a thing from happening.

And in any event, the victims of the deceased will want someone to be held accountable in order to ensure that they get some closure. An investigation has already begun to try to find out what was the root cause of the stampede.

While there were clearly a lot of emotional statements that have already been made, one attorney believes that the chances of Travis facing any criminal charges depends on what the singer knew.

Benjamin Brafman, what happens to be a well-renowned attorney, had this to say: “[If] the facts were to demonstrate that Mr Scott was warned about the size of the crowd and ignored it, or if there was an intentional disregard of safety procedures…then… it’s not impossible for there to be criminal liability.”

As of now, it is not clear how much or exactly what Travis knew. But looking back on his previous interactions with the law, things are not looking very good.

He had previously been on the wrong side of the law on the grounds that he had allowed fans to rush onto the stage. But just because someone may have done something in the past, that does not automatically mean that they are capable of doing it again.

Regardless of whether Travis does end up doing time behind bars, some steps have already been taken by those who have been affected.

According to reports, lawsuits have already been filed with people demanding that compensation be paid out to the family of the deceased, in addition to those who had suffered injuries as a consequence.

The only thing that fans can do is wait for the authorities to come to a conclusion. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
