There is sad news in the world of celebrities today. Traci Braxton, sister of Toni Braxton and Tamar Braxton has died at 50 years old. Toni made the announcement on Saturday on her Instagram account. She posted a picture of her sister and then wrote, “It is with the utmost regret that we inform you of the passing of our sister, Traci.. Needless to say, she was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and a respected performer. We will miss her dearly.”
The Braxton Family Grieves
This has really it the family hard and fans were saddened as well. Toni added to her post, “Traci passed this morning as the snow was falling, our angel is now a snowflake. We ask that you respect our privacy as we plan to send her home with love, celebrating her life.
Traci Braxton Dead at 50
We are family forever.” Traci’s husband was the next to make the confirmation on social media. She had been fighting a battle with cancer over the past year and at 50 years old, she has died.
Kevin Surratt, her husband wrote to his followers, “We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatments for Esophageal cancer, our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory.” Traci’s family was surrounding her at the time of her death and her fans and followers are incredibly saddened by this loss of life.
Traci was born on April 2, 1971, and grew up with siblings Michael Jr., Toni, Towanda, Triana, and Tamar. The family was incredibly close and would do anything for one another. Traci was known for her beautiful voice and released her debut album called Crash & Burn in October of 2014.
Her most popular single on the album was called “Last Call.” Her second album was released in 2018 and she had a few singles from that album as well. Her sisters offered some guest vocals on the album and fans loved it! They felt that the women had such great voices altogether. Their beautiful music will live on in our minds forever.
Fans may also remember Traci from Braton Family Values and Marriage Boot Camp. She did more acting on Sinners Wanted, The Christmas Lottery, and Chaaw. Our hearts go out to the Braxton family and you can follow their posts on Instagram, where they all post pretty regularly.
