Tory Lanez now faces a 10-year prison term after his conviction in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. The rapper’s sentencing was handed down in Los Angeles on Tuesday, concluding an extensive two-day hearing.
Although the potential sentence could have exceeded 22 years, Tory was ultimately sentenced to a decade behind bars. The sentencing procedure had encountered multiple delays over recent months, during which Tory even implored the judge, “Please don’t ruin my life, sir.”
In December, Tory’s guilt in the Megan shooting was established, supported by video evidence from the infamous 2020 incident. The video, acquired by TMZ, depicted Megan with an injury near the SUV, leaving a trace of blood.
Tory received convictions on all three charges against him: negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm.

The jury’s verdict caused significant distress among Tory’s family, leading some to exclaim, “This system stands before God!” during the announcement. A few family members were escorted out of the courtroom due to their reactions.
Sources familiar with the case informed us that Tory’s legal team had engaged with immigration officials prior to the verdict, anticipating the potential need for him to leave the country. However, this scenario did not come to fruition.
Subsequent to the verdict, an online petition rallying support for Tory garnered momentum. Additionally, Tory secured the representation of renowned attorney Jose Baez for his appeal.
Baez, noted for securing an acquittal for Casey Anthony, confirmed his dedication to aiding Tory during an appearance on “TMZ Live” in January. He expressed his confidence in addressing the situation, highlighting various procedural errors from the trial.
