TLC ‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers finds that for now, this is just speculation, but there is a chance that Olivia Plath may not return if there is a ‘Welcome to Plathville’ Season 2. I know, I’m shocked because Olivia was one of the main reasons I tuned in. She was such a breath of fresh air, she and Moriah both. While I did identify with some of the aspects of being homeschooled that Moriah talked about, I definitely couldn’t identify with all of them because my upbringing was not that strict. So seeing someone who was more relatable and more grounded in reality was definitely a welcome balance to the restrictive (and in some cases restricted) Plath family.
Apparently she didn’t really like filming and one would see where it would leave a sour taste in her mouth. It seems that Olivia really got the brunt of the blame for what was going wrong in the Plath family when it really wasn’t her fault. Both she and Ethan maintained that the problems were already there long before she stepped into the picture, she was just the one who happened to uncover them. Which, is true. When one has such a strict upbringing as the Plaths do, one will naturally be curious about the world and what other things there are beyond just a happy childhood on the farm. The Plaths obviously didn’t raise ignoramuses, they’re mistaking natural curiosity for rebellion and that’s just as unhealthy as a teenager ruling the roost.
TLC ‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers: Olivia not returning for season 2?
Recently, Olivia posted this in one of her Instagram captions, “I’ve received so much hate on all of my platforms since our show aired, and while I know that is just part of being in this industry, I don’t need to be seeing that negativity and toxicity every day, if this past year for you didn’t include getting married and moving 800 miles away, leaving your family behind, processing your childhood and [rediscovering] yourself, having your in-laws speak ill of you on national tv, and dealing with narcissistic behavior, emotional, psychological and spiritual abuse every day, then you can’t understand my story and don’t have a reason to tell me why I’m doing everything wrong.”
And you know what? She’s right. We could all stand to do a bit less judging of Olivia. As mature as she is we seem to forget that in actuality, she’s just 21, going on 22. Not that long ago this girl was still a teenager, a child, and even though she’s a married woman now that doesn’t mean that she’s weathered all of life’s storms yet. It doesn’t mean that she is equipped to deal with thousands, if not millions, of people harping at her on social media over things that we would declare trivial in our own lives but because she is on TV that seems to make us put her on a pedestal. As a big fan of Olivia’s, I personally hope that she does return to Plathville and that she can tune out the naysayers. (There’s a block button for a reason, honey!) Stay tuned!!!
