Somewhere, there’s snow-flurries in hell. It seems that Ethan and Olivia Plath have decided to reconnect with Father-in-Law Barry Plath in a rather unprecedented move.
For the longest time, we knew that Kim and Barry Plath both had problems with daughter-in-law Olivia Plath, they said it was over “character flaws” and Olivia has said in various interviews that it was because Kim judged her for literally everything she did, right down to the brand of toothpaste she used and claimed that Olivia was filled with “evil spirits” which is usually Christianese for “having one’s own opinion about things”.
Did Ethan Plath actually mention divorcing Olivia Plath?
However, now that Kim and Barry are divorcing, it seems that Olivia is more willing to forgive Barry. She says that while Barry definitely has some beliefs that she doesn’t agree with, she implied that it was different from her relationship with Kim.
Their goal with this visit was not to really “hash through” anything, but rather, just to have an enjoyable evening. Does anyone get the feeling that Barry doesn’t like talking about his feelings and that is half the problem in his and Kim’s marriage? Because it’s seeming like that.
Though, this trip did make Ethan acknowledge something that we never thought he would ever even mention – and that was the possibility of divorcing wife Olivia Plath! He said, “Who knows, maybe in 10 years me and Olivia will get a divorce?” whoa, what?
Up until now he has seemed really dedicated to his marriage to Olivia but now he seems like he could really take it or leave it, and its seeming like he’s toying with the idea of leaving it every day… it begs the question, should Olivia start worrying? Because up until now he really hadn’t mentioned the possibility.
Even if they do get divorced, while Olivia will be heartbroken, and so would Ethan, both seem to be able to ultimately be fine without each other. Ethan would probably move back to Cairo, and Olivia would probably embrace big city life somewhere and further market her photography career.
We’re not sure about either of them romantically, but that’s one of those things that one is never actually sure about until it happens. Can this marriage be saved? Stay tuned!
