TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ spoilers finds that The Derricos illustrated with their introduction of the social distance church service into their home that they are a family of faith. It’s easy to put church by the wayside during the time of quarantine, to stop going and eventually just stop talking to the man upstairs altogether.

But the Derricos went in the complete opposite direction, instead of distancing themselves from their faith in this trying time, they pulled God closer. The pastor that preached the sermon they were watching was Pastor John Knight, and he did a very good job of addressing the COVID situation from a perspective of faith and the Black Lives Matter movement. Both of these things are things that are hitting the Derricos right now, and both from a very personal POV.

I’m just going to give this pastor a hand for sticking to only a faith perspective and not attempting to mislead his flock by spewing un-scientific facts as we’ve seen some other pastors do. I’m going to give him a hand for not stating things about not wearing masks and addressing all of these things from a level-headed, science respecting point of view.

I’m with Deon, Pastor Knight was eloquent and I have to applaud him for that, because in these trying times, it’s so hard to remain eloquent, it’s hard to keep the frustration and anger from bubbling through. He did that in true servant of God fashion.

When telling their kids about the BLM movement they phrased it in a way that most adults needed to hear. “Just because we’re saying Black Lives Matter, does not mean that no other lives matter.” they taught their children that the movement actually is fighting for the equality of all people involved. However, Black LIves are the one that are in danger specifically right now, so the movement itself is important.

The Derricos are trying to remain positive during these trying times and I think that’s an important thing. They’re trying their best, and that’s important. Although let’s face it, 2020 is making it really hard to remain that way, for any family. Stay tuned!!!
