The couple is married and has tried to get the spousal visa so that Omar can travel to see Avery. He did get denied this time around, but there are several reasons for this. One of the main reasons is that COVID-19 is keeping pretty much everyone inside and everything closed. Some countries are taking it more seriously than others so things have been hard to get moving for Omar’s visa.

They spend anywhere from two to three hours talking to each other a day. In the process of getting his spousal visa, Omar needs to have an interview in order to finalize the visa. Because of COVID-19, not only can he not get an appointment, but neither one of them can travel out of the country right now.

These two have opened up about what life has been like during the pandemic. Avery has been at home in Ohio with her cat and is worried about her mother. Her mother works at a COVID-19 testing site. Avery has expressed her fears to her, but being on the frontline is what she loves doing right now. Omar is still staying in Syria with his family and trying to remain safe as well. It is a very tough time for everyone and this has really hit these two hard, especially since international travel is not the best option right now.
Omar and Avery have been chatting a lot about the best place to live. They said that if he cannot get to America soon, they have thought about moving to Dubai within the next six months. This is a great plan, but is Avery cannot travel, what will she do? There are a lot of questions and a lot of stress that is coming out of this and all they can do is wait.
