TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’ spoilers finds that calling all Samoan therapists! Asuelu Pulaa has decided that the only way that he will see a marriage counselor is if the therapist is a Samoan male. I have no doubt that there are some Samoan male therapists in the contentinental US, I just don’t know how prevalent they are where he and Kalani live… in the mid-west, which, to quote Gabriel Iglesias is, “The white people factory.”
Asuelu, who’s been speaking english well enough up until now, has decided that, much like Jihoon Lee of 90 day fiance the other way, he doesn’t want to speak english anymore and he wants to speak his native language.

Kalani Faagata handled this a lot better than I personally would have. When he suggested a Samoan male therapist, I probably would have burst out laughing. Instead, Kalani comrpomised with getting an interpreter. I think that’s possibly the best thing that could have come out of her mouth, although I don’t know how Asuelu’s going to take it when two people possibly gang up on him.
He seems to think that just because someone is Samoan and male that they’re automatically going to take his side, but as we’ve seen the Kalani’s Dad, that’s not really the case. Even a true Samoan male is done with antics. That’s not a good indicator of how things are going to go when you have a talk with a therapist, even if they luck out and Kalani does happen to find one familiar with Samoan culture.
Although honestly at this point it would be easier and cheaper just to start a gofundme for the $1K and Asuelu’s ticket home because it’s obvious that he wants to go and live back on the island. The thing is, Asuelu could learn a lot of Kalani’s Dad, Lo, but he refuses to.
Kalani’s Mom said that in the beginning she had the same problem with him, but that eventually he mellowed out. Kalani is honestly trying to work on her marriage for her boys and that’s commendable but is Asuelu willing to do any work from his end?
I think Kalani’s Mom might be right, Asuelu is the one that trapped Kalani. He’s the one that promised her the moon and managed to convince her that he was going to do all kinds of stuff that he wasn’t actually planning on doing and then he expected her to be the little wife and just put up with it.
That’s not how modern, American women work and I think you’d probably be hard-pressed to find a modern samoan girl who works like that too. I could be wrong, but Kalani is half samoan herself and she’s not like that. Asuelu is kidding himself but we’ll see how this goes. Stay tuned!!!
