Anthony Barajas, who is best known for his viral TikTok videos, has been shot dead following a shooting at a movie theatre in California.

The 19-year-old had amassed almost a million followers on TikTok before his life was brutally ended. He had been watching the film: “The Forever Purge” as the shooter decided to let loose. Two people were ultimately killed, and the news has led to mass mourning amongst his fans.
The perpetrator in question has been identified as Joseph Jimenez. The latter has been arrested, and attempts are currently being made to put him in front of a judge for sentencing.
In an official statement given by the police, they said: “The Corona Police Department has been notified that Anthony Barajas passed away early this morning. We extend our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.” Anthony was known for his light-hearted approach to life. Given that he was young and had plenty to look forward to, it was clearly a case of going before one’s time. The community, in response, decided to get together in order to help out Anthony’s family.
The response was amazing, as a GoFundMe campaign had been set up. As of now, over $74,000 have been raised on behalf of Anthony so far. The organiser of the fund, Julia Barajas, had this to say: “Anthony was the light of so many peoples [sic] lives, and there are tough times ahead, but we have amazing family and friends to get through this.”
In addition, the news also quickly travelled on social media. Fans came out in droves to express their sorrow. Malik Earnest, who happens to be a friend, wrote: “I want to thank everyone who lifted Anthony in prayer…Anthony was wheeled down an ‘honour walk’ where he would ultimately donate his organs so others may live.”
While there is nothing that can make Anthony come back, the family will firmly be focused on making sure that justice is served. And the fans will be there every step of the way to make sure that it is done. And we wish the family our best wishes.
