Many companies get called out for their ingredients and Bath and Body Works is now one of them. There has been a huge debate about one of the new spray air fresheners. It all started on a TikTok post when a health warning went out about this air freshener. This TikTok has had over 1 million views already and the viewers have really started to battle it out in the comments.

    TikTok: The Shocking Ingredients

The original post was made by a user calling themselves @karlyalane. She asked, “What’s going on? When Bath and Body Works is still in business after they released THIS.” She also told the viewers to get ready to take a screenshot of the ingredients in this product.

The product she shared is the Bath and Body Works’ Winter Candy Apple home fragrance refill. She shared safety information from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This information is required when there are specific chemicals in products.

On the warnings, the buyer can see that there are risks of skin irritation, infertility, and organ damage. The TikTokers who watched the video were incredibly upset by the ingredients and the risks involved when buying this product.

One of the viewers wrote, “This is why I have moved onto all-natural products! Using essential oils instead of fragrance candles and wall plugs.” Another wrote, “Haven’t used it in years. I tell everyone to stop buying it!! Toxic is an underestimate.”

There were also viewers who said that they thought that Bath and Body Works was being singled out and there are many other companies that use the same ingredients. One viewer wrote, “Do some research… this is literally every room spray, candle, and body spray in the world.”

When Bath and Body Works spoke out about the safety sheets, they said, “Safety Data Sheets, like the one you are referencing from TikTok, are a standardized practice across home fragrance. The intended audience for these sheets is companies and emergency personnel who need to know how to handle, store or dispose of large quantities of chemicals in industrial settings.”

There seem to be a lot of viewers of this video that were very upset about the user posting the ingredients. We all know that there are bad ingredients in many products that we use and it really is up to us to finally determine which ones are the best for ourselves and our homes.
