Apparently that’s what he’s getting. The BBC has decided to do a feature length documentary on the “Tiger King” star, which will be directed by Louis Theoroux. The project as of right now has the working title of “Louis Theoroux: The Cult of Joe Exotic”.
Tiger King was the breakout netflix hit of 2020, since everyone was quarantined at home and could find the time to watch it. But as far as Joe Exotic himself having a cult?
I think that might be a bit of a stretch.
Theoroux spent some time on Joe Exotic’s property back 10 years ago when he was doing a documentary called “Most Dangerous Pets”, although seriously could you call tigers pets? I really don’t think so.
He’s going back to Oklahoma in this piece to detail what life has been like for Exotic behind bars, after getting a guilty verdict in a murder-for-hire plot that he orchestrated against rival Carol Baskin from Big Cat Rescue down in Florida.
Also, “Tiger King” is slated to get a second season, so we’ll have even more Joe Exotic on our plate. Seriously, has he done that much that’s that noteworthy that the documentary deserves a second season?
The only thing he’s done, besides raise a bunch of Tigers, is try to wipe a rival animal dealer off the map for no other reason other than that he couldn’t stand her. So, it begs the question, is he really worthy of all that attention?
No one wants to be in prison, and it’d be one thing if this were a petty offense or more of a white collar crime, but Exotic wanted to outright murder Carol Baskin, so it begs the question, why are we rewarding him with all this attention for making all the wrong choices in his life?
Isn’t prison supposed to be where you go to think about the crimes you’ve committed? Is Exotic thinking about his crimes at all or is he in there just tossing the soap around, having a grand ol’ time? Is he profiting off any of this at all, or is it going to legal fees to get him out? What’s the deal and how come he gets this much attention? Stay tuned!!!
