Michelle Stafford was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to California when she was young. When she finished high school, she decided that she wanted to become a model.
She appeared in her first television show in 1990. The show, Tribes, was sadly canceled after three months. Michelle went on to perform in several plays and had some minor supporting roles in some films. In 1993 she appeared in Body of Influence.
She started in the role that would make her famous in 1994. From 1994-1997, 2000-2013, and from 2019-today she has been playing the role of Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless. She also played the role of Nina Reeves on General Hospital from 2014-2019.

Phyllis Summers is a favorite villainess on Y&R. She is known for being brash and spunky. She speaks her mind, and you don’t want to cross her. While she loves her children and her friends, she is impetuous, and it causes all kinds of trouble for everyone.
Jack Abbott (Jack Bergman) nicknamed her “Red” because of her hair color and that seems to match her personality as well. She is a powerful force and an all-consuming fire.
Michelle Stafford has played this role well and is obviously a fan favorite. She has been nominated for awards seventeen times over the last 27 years!
She won five different times. Michelle won awards for Outstanding Female Newcomer (1996), Outstanding Supporting Actress (1997), Outstanding Villainess (1997), and Outstanding Lead Actress (2003 and 2004). “Red” is well loved!

Michelle Stafford founded the skin care company, Skin Nation after her sister Janine was diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer.
Michelle grew concerned with the chemicals present in commonly used beauty products and wanted to research and develop better alternatives. This is how Skin Nation came about.
Michelle has invested her time and energy into formulating products that are all natural and plant based. She wants people to live healthier lives.
