‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that since Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) arrived in Genoa City, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) has been frantically trying to ensure that nothing from her past threatens to derail the relationship she has been working so hard to mend with her son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Prior to Tucker’s arrival, Diane had been working incredibly hard to win back the favor of her son and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and she had made great strides. Now that she believes she has an advantage over Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in their relationship with Jack, she goes to him and makes an effort to downplay the negative press.

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Will Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) Forgive Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters)?

Jack reminds Diane of her own dishonesty and lies and explains why he no longer trusts her as Diane rushes to him to explain what Phyllis is doing and how she is being targeted. Co-Executive Producer / Head Writer Josh Griffith explained that, “Diane is devastated when Jack admits he made a mistake giving her the benefit of the doubt so easily. Jack shares that he did his best to give Diane a second chance for Kyle but Diane is proving that Jack was wrong to do so. Jack’s instincts are telling him that Diane is not being honest about her time in L.A.,” in an issue of Soap Opera Digest.

Naturally, shortly after, Diane runs into Phyllis, who teases her about the reporter looking into her relationship with Tucker. Diane understands she needs to step up her game in order to compete with Phyllis and avoid losing control of the situation. When Diane returns to Jack’s office, she admits that she has been hiding information about her time in Los Angeles because she is embarrassed to share it. She admits to having a relationship with Tucker, but she will do whatever it takes to make amends and maintain the relationship between her son and Jack.
