‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that while it looks like Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) is still waffling between Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Holden is prepared to prove to Claire that he can trust her.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: What Claire Did In Her Past Was Worse
He plans to tell her the truth about what happened between him and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Audra is sweating bullets watching intently to see if Holden will really spill his guts.
We have to wonder if Holden tells her what really happened, will she give him a real chance? She seemed genuinely upset about Kyle’s decision to walk away from her since she clearly can’t make up her mind.
We know that despite Holden’s good looks and considerable charm, her heart still belongs with Kyle. That said, Claire basically told Holden she would go on a real date and give him a genuine shot with her if he gave her ammunition about what went down in LA with Audra.
Holden has already explained to Claire that he and Audra met at the Shadow Room and that she stole a massive check from a man.
Afterward, the man showed up at the club intending to assault her sexually. He has also admitted to her that Audra Charles isn’t even her real name: it’s Audra Cortes.
What Claire doesn’t know is that he accidentally killed the guy after he punched him for threatening Audra. It’s honestly not much of an earth-shattering revelation. Plus, it sounds like he was trying to help Audra when the man was obviously in trouble.
Holden covered up the man’s death, and they hid the body. We’re unsure whether we actually care. Claire shouldn’t really judge Holden. She kidnapped her whole family and tried to kill them.

That said, the soap is playing up this big secret like it’s a big deal. What Claire has done in her past is much worse. Meanwhile, Claire is working with Kyle to expose Audra and destroy her.
Kyle likely expected their mutual desire for revenge against Audra to lead to a reunion. Yet Claire only seemed interested in Kyle after he told her he wouldn’t keep chasing her and that he needed to move on with his life.
Claire decided she needed to be on her own and embark on a journey of self-discovery, but did she separate from Kyle so she could sleep with Holden and explore her attraction to him guilt-free?
The look on Claire’s face after Kyle left Society was enough to know she still loves him. However, she has agreed to go on this New Year’s date with Holden only if he gives her dirt on Audra.
Is this really about Holden telling her the truth, or is this about Claire’s plans for revenge on Audra? That’s what we’re genuinely confused about.
The story is also becoming repetitive. Yes, Claire is a young girl and has every right to want to gain more life experience and independence before she fully commits to a serious, long-term relationship, but we’re getting whiplash from all the back-and-forth.
