‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) have wanted to be parents, and were looking into how to go about it.
Mariah was especially interested after she was a surrogate for Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and got baby fever. She ended up getting Tessa on board in what was supposed to be a pretty big storyline.
We occasionally got a glimpse into the storyline of them looking for a surrogate, then radio silence. It felt like whatever was going on was happening incredibly slowly, however, they simply weren’t showing us.
It’s interesting that they’ve been adding so many new babies to the show and wonder why they wouldn’t pay as much attention to this storyline.

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Why Was Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) And Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) Child Storyline Off-Screen?
Soaps are known for being wild, but they also tackle very serious and real situations, like cancer, heartbreak, death, and more. This adoption/surrogate storyline for a same-sex couple could have been an interesting story that maybe some viewers would have been able to relate to.
However, for whatever reason they choose not to cover it. We wonder why and if we will witness more of them together and raising their new child Aria.
We also wonder if this will lead to the writers rapidly aging Aria. There are a lot of little ones now and as we know, they love to suddenly age kids so next thing we know Aria could be 6.
Meanwhile, Harrison doesn’t seem to have aged a day. That is of course if they actually decided to show us this storyline and what it’s like for them to be new parents.
Mariah and Tessa’s relationship has taken the main stage before, and in fact, they even almost broke up at one point. Surely, the storyline with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) didn’t need to take up so much time did it?
What do you think? Why did they seemingly skip over this storyline and are you interested in seeing them be new parents? Let us know in the comments below.
