‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers pose the question: Why does Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walter) refuse to accept that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was the victim of drugging and manipulation?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Drugged Jack and Patty’s Whiskey
Soaps have a complex and often disturbing history of featuring controversial storylines in which others are raped, and it’s often used against the character who is the victim.
The worst offenders are The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Both Bill Bell soaps. Not only is Jack being painted as a cheating monster by his wife, Diane, but it also happened recently on B&B.
Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) was drugged by Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada), as she actually poisoned him with very strong alcohol and raped him during a party.

His girlfriend, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace), could only see it as betrayal on Will’s part. Yes, Will lied to her, but she wasn’t exactly understanding. Now, a similar storyline is playing out on Y&R with Jack, Diane, and Patty.
Y&R fans know that last month, Victor Newman (Eric Braden) had Jack kidnapped and put on a yacht with none other than Jack’s very unstable ex-wife, Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk).
Apparently, Victor drugged the whiskey they drank, and the pair landed in bed together. Diane, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) formed a search party to find him.
Imagine their shock when they discovered Jack and Patty basking in the afterglow following a drug and alcohol-infused bedroom romp.
Diane didn’t even try to listen to Jack explain himself. Instead, she slapped him across the face and promptly packed her bags and moved out of the Abbott mansion, breaking Jack’s heart in the process.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Many Characters Have Tried to Get Through to Diane
Jack has tried numerous times to get through to Diane, but she really doesn’t get it. Diane is playing the blame game with Jack when she should be pointing the finger at the ruthless, heartless bully that is the Great Victor Newman.
Despite much evidence that Victor meticulously orchestrated the situation, Diane feels personally betrayed by Jack and has taken a hardline stance.

Her trust in Jack is shattered, and she has dismissed Jack’s explanation as a desperate excuse. Diane has focused entirely on the infidelity, not on the circumstances.
The shock of finding Jack in bed with Patty was enough to send Diane into a rage. Her finding them shut down the possibility that Jack was actually the victim.
When Jack told her that he was drugged, Diane responded that
However, Jack has had substance abuse issues in the past.
He was once addicted to painkillers but has since recovered. Jack obviously had no idea that the whiskey had been drugged.

Many characters, such as Kyle and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), have reminded Diane that Jack was drugged. Traci also reminded Diane today that she led her family to believe she was dead for years.
It served as a powerful message to Diane that she, too, has made mistakes. Traci asked Diane to give Jack some grace. Everyone is trying to talk some sense into Diane. Is she finally ready to listen?
