‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that taking a leave of absence from a top job is sometimes necessary. Replacing that person can be challenging, especially in a family business with the Newman name on the building.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been increasingly agitated, if not outraged, by his son’s verbal brawling. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) are dissimilar but fight for other reasons.
The Newman brothers believe that each person has been given an easy road. Nick believes Adam is receiving another undeserved second chance from their father. Adam believes Nick had a life far easier than him from the time he was born into wealth.

Adam lived with his mother growing up. But as Nick and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) always conveniently forget to mention, they were outraged when he first came to town.
The return of Victor’s adult son with Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman), who was blind, to Genoa City, Wisconsin, in 2008 proved far different than when he was a baby. Devoted viewers recall Hope lived with Victor in the penthouse after Adam was born.
Eventually, she decided the big city was not suitable for her son. Hope returned to her farm in Kansas, with Adam not knowing Victor was his father until Hope was dying.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Nick Newman’s Focus Is Right
Nick knows Adam had a hard life and sought to bond with him in the recent past. For a while, Nick’s efforts worked, and Adam was appreciative.
Morrow’s character was moved by Adam donating his kidney to Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). She encouraged her dad to give Adam slack. He did, but then Adam reverted to his woe-is-me attitude.
Most importantly, Nick resents Adam sucking all the soapy oxygen out of GC. Everyone’s life matters, not just Adam’s. Only narcissists, who share his personality type, believe otherwise.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Victoria Newman Must Help Claire Grace Heal
In terms of having a hard life, Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) has her uncles beat by a country mile. She was stolen at birth from Victoria and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) and then brainwashed to seek revenge through to their deaths.
Victoria has just begun helping Claire, who is in the psychiatric ward at GC Memorial Hospital. Meanwhile, across town, Nick and Adam are obsessing about each other’s annoyances.
Assuming Victoria wants to return to the helm at Newman Enterprises, like her father, she will reestablish her place. Nick does not wish to power-share her job with Adam any longer than necessary.
As for Adam, he wants the golden chair for himself. So, returning his half of it to Victoria will likely be challenging on Y&R.
