Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) should have grown up with her parents. But she was denied that life because Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) pursued a revenge plan for the past quarter-century.
One of the few positive outcomes of Jordan’s intention of killing Claire’s parents and other connected family members is the reveal. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) know the daughter they named Eve Nicole is alive.

Believing that her sister’s death was caused by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was wrong. Jordan was not close with her late sister, as Cole has affirmed.
Yet Jordan convinced herself that Victor and, to a lesser extent, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had to be held accountable. And so, the one-time nurse obtained credentials at Genoa City Memorial Hospital when Victoria gave birth to Eve.
One can question the protocols the hospital had in place because Jordan’s baby switch was nothing short of remarkable. Maybe viewers will also be told the details about the deceased baby Victoria and Cole grieved as their own.

Claire saved everyone who was poisoned by providing them with an antidote. She followed that up by pointing a loaded gun at Jordan and telling her deranged aunt to let Nikki go.
The cabin incident and the bond Nikki began to form with Claire seemed enough to help assure Erin’s character that she was nothing like Jordan. But the subsequent deal Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) cut for Claire resulted in Claire’s stay in a psych ward at GC Memorial.
Instead of realizing a long-sought revenge plan or bonding with her parents, as Claire truly hoped, she was hospitalized. In her mind, she is not worthy of love and has reached rock bottom.

Victoria has suffered numerous instances of trauma in her life. None more so than believing Eve died shortly after birth.
Now, with Cole returned to GC, another positive result of Jordan’s intended horror show, Victoria can realize daylight. She also quickly realized that Claire’s shutdown represents a significant barrier.
However, the Newman family is resilient. Victoria knows from her parent’s example how to fight to win. Cole is also committed to helping their daughter become the person she was always meant to be on Y&R.
