‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) is a monster. That villain projects zero redeeming qualities, which is why her great-niece has no self-worth.
Thankfully, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) learned Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) was the daughter they believed was dead. Even backhanded credit can not be offered to Jordan for that reveal. Doing so would suggest Zenk’s character has a pinch of morality.

Victoria told her family that Claire has a long road ahead of her. The psychological state Jordan created leaves a gaping hole of nothingness.
But, after a few days of rest in the Genoa City Memorial Hospital psych ward, Erin’s character took a first step. After initially rejecting her parent’s offer to help, Claire presented a plan.
Her request to confront Jordan is a first step. She said that doing so will allow her to heal. Claire implies bonding with Victoria, and Cole should follow even if she does not realize it.

Longtime fans recall that Cole was twice married to Victoria. However, following his second marriage, he married Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).
His chance meeting with Ashley at Crimson Lights created a nice but brief catch-up session. Cole did not provide details about the so-called family situation he referenced when asked why he was back in GC.
Victoria’s arrival and facial expression provided context to newer viewers when seeing Ashley. The audience recognizes the possibility of Cole becoming part of a triangle with Victoria and Ashley.
After the final scene appears, Peck’s name is listed at the end of Y&R’s credits. That means he is not a regular contract player. So, the length of Cole’s stay and ability to be involved in longer storylines remains to be discovered.

Taking an indefinite leave of absence from Newman Enterprises was the right decision. It was also one Victoria instinctively knew she had to make.
The maternal bond Victoria has with Claire is unbroken. Jordan told Erin’s character who her parents were and that they abandoned her. While it was not the intention, the exposure of lies reestablished the proper order in this soapy world.
Having confronted Jordan, Claire returned to her natural home in GC with a family that loves her. She is starting to learn what love is because her great aunt again proved unable to offer that at the prison on Y&R.
