‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) can’t win where his son Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is concerned. Maybe Daddy needs to just back off and give his son some space.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Black Sheep
Adam is the black sheep of the family. His sister Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and his brother Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) have senior positions at Newman Media. They are running the company well and they are very successful.
Adam on the other hand, has struggled. He has had professional issues and then trouble with his siblings and his father. He even tried to work for Jabot for a while, which is run by his father’s nemesis, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
His heart wasn’t in it though, and he left the company right before getting fired.
The relationship between Adam and his father has always been difficult. While Victor does interfere everywhere, Adam just has decided not to put up with that anymore and just fights his father every step of the way.
Victor’s goal and dream is to have all of his children working for him. It doesn’t matter if it is harmonious or not, but he just wants Adam back in the fold and everyone in the same company.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Repeated Attempts
Victor wants Adam back at Newman Media. When he invited him back, Adam said he would only come back to the family company if Victor removed Victoria from her role as CEO and give him the job. That was an impossible ask, which Adam knew.
Since Victor can never remove his daughter, he decided that Newman Media would try to acquire McCall Unlimited from Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and he would put Adam at the head of that company. When he presented this to his son, Adam was pretty interested.
Victoria did not agree. She does not want to work with her brother ever again. She did not want him at the helm but planned to break McCall into different pieces and merge them into the Newman Media empire.
When she saw that her father could not be deterred, she decided to not pursue the acquisition of McCall Unlimited.
Even though Victoria backed away due to her brother, Victor proceeded and was able to get the company from McCall. He presented it to Adam, asking him to take over his new acquisition.
Adam was surprised that Victor had succeeded. Adam says he will only agree if he gets complete autonomy and is totally separate from the Newmans.
This directly goes against Victor’s plans. His goal is to bring his family together, not just give Adam a company to run that is separate from Newman. He tells Adam that will be impossible. Victor stresses the importance that all of them should put on family, especially as Adam is an expectant father.
What do you think Adam will do? Will he agree or will Victor have to go with a Plan B for McCall Unlimited? Share your thoughts below.
