‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that the rumors about Trevor St. John playing Tucker McCall were absolutely true, and he has hit Genoa City in a big way. St. John was contacted by Michael Fairman TV to get his opinions on a variety of topics, including his new Genoa City residence, his impressions of his new role and co-stars so far, and much more.
It’s a great interview and we get to hear a little bit more about Tucker’s ideas and what it was like behind the scenes with St. John coming onboard the incredible Y&R cast.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Trevor St. John Dishes On Becoming Tucker McCall In New Interview
When asked about the character and how he approached the role, Trevor revealed that he didn’t do much of his own research and is kind of winging it! “The only info they gave me was a broad overview of the relationships Tucker has with the other characters and their history. I didn’t do any research on my own. I’m learning on the job!”
When asked about the future and what he expects to see this character do, St. John is never to quick to judge, saying, “You know, it’s strange, I prefer to never draw any conclusion about a character – my view of him – because the second I do, I’ve limited him/myself, if that makes any sense. I never want to put any unnecessary limits on myself.”
The big question on everyone’s mind is what it will be like when Tucker reconnects with his son, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James)! “Since Tucker has been away from Genoa City, it’s safe to say he has a lot of ground to cover when it comes to re-establishing relationships, most importantly with his son, Devon. We will also see Tucker form some new alliances as well,” St. John responded.
Since joining the cast, he has been surrounded by Daytime greats, one of these is, of course, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman). When asked what it was like being around him for the first time, St. John said, “Eric was great. He’s strikes me as a man who knows exactly who he is and has no qualms about it. That’s the kind of person I like to be around – totally genuine and authentically themselves. I hope we get to work together often.”
We look forward to seeing what St. John does with the character and are excited that he is back in Genoa City after all this time.
