‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Summer Newman (Hunter King) is being a coward. There, I said it. Let’s break it down though, and better understand what I mean. I don’t mean to insult the character, but since when did Summer become such a pushover?

I understand Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) has been a terrible monster to Summer, but when has Summer ever backed down? Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle), Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), the list goes on.

Plus, she seems to have the full backing of her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and everyone else in town.

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Newman (Hunter King) Is Wrong – Here’s Why

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) did an incredible thing. He stepped up to be a father, and that’s admirable. Sure, we know that Tara is pulling strings behind everyone, and so does Summer. So, why hasn’t she brought this to everyone’s acknowledgment? Not only is she running away from her own problems, but she’s leaving everyone else to be a “victim” of Tara and her lies.

Not to mention the, “it’ll be better for you” mentality of leaving Kyle behind and leaving as a martyr. So, because Kyle is doing the RIGHT thing, and stepping up to be a father, it’s just too much for Summer and she has to run away because… what exactly? Kyle “won’t have enough love to go around” or something?

Everything about this situation is wrong, and Summer playing this martyr-like character for Kyle is annoying. Just explain to everyone what’s going on. I know you feel like you don’t have a choice with Tara and her demands, but surely giving up and packing it in isn’t the best option.

What do you think? Do you really think they’re over or are they just tugging at heartstrings? Let us know in the comments below.
