‘Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) comings and goings indicate that Simon Black’s (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) time in Genoa City has come to an end. The actor has just wrapped up his short-term arc. Here’s what he has to say.
According to CBS Soaps in Depth, Jeffrey says that he enjoy his little stint in Genoa City, even if it was a short one. As many ‘Young and the Restless’ fans know, Simon Black sure did give Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) a good run for her money, and in more ways than one!

The actor told the publication in a new interview, “I really loved the writing and the character. My mother lives in a retirement community and her friends are big fans of the show. They made up an invination that almost looked like a wedding invitation for the first day I was on. So that was fun!”
So what does this mean for Chelsea’s future now that Simon is no longer around? Well, as many daytime television fans already know, there’s no such thing as “never” in the soap world. We have a feeling that there is plenty of unfinished business with Simon and that he will be back before we know it.
Actor Jeffrey Vincent Parise didn’t say whether or not he would be returning, but it’s without a doubt that the door will be open, should he want to come back. Plus, Simon Black made such a great victim and the hostage scene kept a lot of fans at the edge of their seats! Seeing what kind of con artist Chelsea Newman is, we have a feeling that she is going to run into even more trouble in the future.
