‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) should issue a restraining order against Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Mariah Made a Huge Legal Mistake with Her Apology

Let’s look at the facts: Mariah has been given numerous chances to get help for her mental instability, and every time she runs the other way.

It’s a huge legal mistake on her part, since the judge presiding over this case will be evaluating whether Mariah’s claims of remorse are genuine.

If Mariah doesn’t check herself into a mental health facility, she’s going to look like someone who refuses to take responsibility for her actions.

Plus, Mariah showed up at Abby and Devon Winter’s (Bryton James) home with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and apologized without first consulting her attorney, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell).

That alone could destroy Christine’s legal strategy to defend her client in the courtroom. Plus, for Sharon, of all people, to bring Mariah to see Abby and Devon is senseless.

Sharon is supposed to be a skilled psychiatrist and should have known better than to allow her daughter to go to the Chancellor mansion so that Mariah could apologize for kidnapping Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

First of all, the child is likely traumatized by the incident. Mariah took this little boy and dragged him from state to state and even forced Dominic to call her “mommy.”

Yes, it was under the guise of a harmless game, but what Mariah did to Dom was incredibly wrong. For Sharon, a trained therapist, to think it was okay for Mariah to go to the home where this child lives so soon after the kidnapping is ridiculous.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Abby Doesn’t Want Mariah Anywhere Near Dominic

Mariah’s decision to visit Abby and Devon to offer an apology no one asked for should have been a major violation of her bail.

Not only could it have retraumatized Dom, but it may hurt Mariah’s defense. Also, what in the world is Mariah doing out in public where she could potentially run into Dominic and his parents?

Shouldn’t Mariah be in a mental health clinic, or at the very least, at home with Sharon with an ankle monitor around her lower leg?

A formal legal boundary would put the kibosh on the countless potential opportunities for Mariah to see Dominic out in public?

While Mariah didn’t plan to run into Dom at Chancellor Park, it’s obvious that no one could predict the possibility of Dom and Mariah crossing paths in Genoa City.

Mariah’s mental state has been in extreme peril for months. She’s been seeing visions of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and obeying his imaginary commands, which are detrimental to an innocent little boy.

Mariah clearly needs professional help, and it’s very irresponsible for her not to admit that. Abby already vowed to Mariah that she would do everything in her power to prevent Dom and Mariah from having contact.

She should take the extra step and get a restraining order against Mariah to ensure the safety and well-being of her son.

If Mariah really wants to help her case, she should really seek help. Mariah’s repeated attempts to regain control of her own mind have failed. It may be time for Mariah to get serious about her mental health.
