‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest Sharon Newman‘s (Sharon Case) mental health has been unraveling for a while now. She’s lived with bipolar disorder for years and has done very well on her medication.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Sharon’s Old Medication Became Ineffective
However, when Sharon was prescribed a new medication because her old medication had become ineffective, she said that she didn’t like the way the meds made her feel.
We thought Sharon had stopped taking her medication. Still, when her behavior started to become erratic, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) investigated to see if she was still taking it.

Since that happened, we’ve seen her hallucinate and talk to a dead Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby), go to Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) to poison his whiskey, kill Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), and frame Daniel for the murder.
Since Sharon killed Cameron in self-defense, she may be spiraling because of that. Could her behavior also stem from PTSD? Cameron appears to represent Sharon’s dark side. If she’s not taking her medicine, it could get a lot worse.
It is hard to say what’s happening with Sharon and her medicine. She could also still be taking it, and it’s just not working. She hasn’t spoken with her doctor about the situation.
Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) isn’t going to let her son fry for a crime he didn’t commit. She’ll get to the bottom of this and perhaps realize that Sharon is somehow involved in the mysterious circumstances surrounding Heather’s death.
It’s only a matter of time before Phyllis figures out what happened. Look for her to investigate and learn shocking news.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: The Court Will Have To Consider Sharon’s Fragile Mental State
When Red finds out the truth about what Sharon did, she’ll not only be livid but also make sure Sharon pays the price. It’s only a question of whether Sharon will have to go to a psychiatric facility or prison.
Whatever the case, she’ll be watched very closely. She could lose her family’s trust and her freedom. Not to mention, when Sharon comes out of her mental health crisis and sees what she’s done, she may never forgive herself.
She killed an innocent woman who had nothing to do with Cassie Newman‘s (Camryn Grimes) death and pinned the murder on her husband.
Sharon violated the ultimate sin and risked leaving Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) without a parent. She already lost her mother because of Sharon’s actions.
Taking Lucy’s father away from her would be cruel and selfish. Sharon wouldn’t want someone to take her away from her children.
Sharon should hope that Phyllis isn’t the one to discover Sharon’s secret, but maybe Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). If her family learns the truth, they may be more forgiving.
Most likely, her psychiatrist will vouch for her, and the court will have to take into consideration that Sharon has a mental illness. Sharon will need the right medicine and hopefully get the help she needs.
