‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) currently enjoy a stable marriage. However, their newlywed happiness is already showing signs of potential trouble.
Diane has advised Jack to dismiss Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and replace him with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), as she believes Billy is prone to making mistakes and is fine with Jack making the change, especially if it means Kyle returning to Jabot.
Diane has also suggested the option of Jack retiring and allowing Kyle to co-manage Jabot alongside Billy. This is another way she’s attempting to influence Jack’s decisions behind the scenes. Jack, for the moment, doesn’t seem to perceive this manipulation as problematic.
Nevertheless, there is a looming issue that could resurface and strain their marriage. While Diane and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) have set aside their past feud, there’s a possibility it could resurface in the future.
Y&R spoilers hint at Phyllis’ ongoing conflict with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) potentially putting her in grave danger, and Jack may feel guilty if Phyllis faces harm partly because of his actions.

Phyllis was attempting to make amends with Jack when she engaged in hacking and confronted Tucker with her newfound knowledge.
Since her blackmail leverage won’t protect her for much longer, Jack may experience remorse once Tucker targets her. Jack has already been showing signs of softening towards Phyllis to some extent, possibly hinting at a potential reunion.
If Diane senses that Jack might actually forgive Phyllis for her past mistakes, including nearly allowing Diane to languish in prison, it could lead to a significant rupture in their marriage.
As Jack grows closer to Phyllis, it becomes easier for Diane to become unhinged and potentially make her own significant errors.
In the months to come, Jack may reevaluate his relationship with Phyllis, which could potentially spell trouble for his marriage with Diane.
