‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is proceeding cautiously. That is not her usual mode of operation. But it is necessary because of the fallout following her faked death in the recent past.
The damage done to her children has caused Phyllis the most pain. She can deal with Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) turn away from her and toward Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters). But the distrust she still sees in Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) eyes is heartbreaking.

Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) is one Phyllis wished she never heard. But after learning it, she contacted him using a burner phone.
Devoted fans recall she wanted to run Diane out of Genoa City, Wisconsin, at that time in the plot. So, she located and contacted Jeremy and told him where Diane was living.
Eventually, Phyllis had to kill Jeremy in self-defense. He wanted to force her to maintain a faked death ruse because they set Diane up for her supposed murder.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Danny Romalotti Offers Encouragement
Those who watched this soap during the ’90s know that Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) was in love with his wife, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell). Phyllis began following Danny to various concert performances because she was obsessed with him.
Stafford turned what was to be a short-term role into a career through her memorable performances. Phyllis eventually set Danny up, convincing him that he was the father of the baby she was having. But Daniel was not his child, as was later forcibly revealed.
For Danny to encourage Phyllis in 2023 is rather remarkable. But as time passes, Damian’s character has compassion and believes she is serious about reforming herself.

She is not acting. Phyllis does want her children’s forgiveness and will forever value Danny’s opinion of her.
As Christine learned, Phyllis has not matured where she is concerned. The audience also knows that Danny does not have eyes for Phyllis. He and Bell’s character might be able to reconcile because of her pending divorce from Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).
The two people who mean more to Phyllis than anyone, Daniel and Summer, remain skeptical. Their mother burned them on multiple occasions, with this most recent scorcher being the hardest to take.
When returning from Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2019, she dubbed herself the fabled Phoenix. This rise from the ashes is proving far harder because of Phyllis’s self-created, soapy mess. But everyone who knows her on both sides of the screen also realizes that resilience is also a part of her greatness at Y&R.
