CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that as we get ready to close out the theme weeks foreseeable future with this episode, the show love the message this episode sends.

The message we’re seeing could be meant by the powers-that-be, or it could juts be our imaginations. Not that we’re complaining either way.

Coming to us from September 1, 2016, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) has finally decided to meet his mother, Lucinda Winters (Nichelle Nicols).

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For August 7: Remembering ties

It’s an awesome moment as they rediscovered each other over an emotional and difficult conversation.

Their time together is short, as Neil learned from the doctors what Lucinda wasn’t doing too well.

Lucinda referred to them as fools, and we were off and running.

But the message, at least, as far as ‘Young and the Restless’ think, is the bridging of two or more generations and the parting of old friends and loved ones.

In that regard, it’s the perfect way to close out the theme weeks as we’ve gotten to reconnect with old friends we may not have seen in years or at all depending on our timing.

We relived memorable moments with Kristoff St. John and Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) and others. We enjoyed their antics and drama once again and they’ve made an everlasting impression on us.

It’s a really cool idea as new episodes will begin on Monday, August 10.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For August 7: Catching up

Like our experiences, Lucinda marveled at the man Neil had grown into, and she was proud of his family and career.

She’d kept up with everything he did despite being forced to leave her family. Her actions left plenty of deep scars on Neil, who hadn’t bothered answering any of her letters over the years.

For him, he felt like she’d abandoned him while she never stopped loving him.

In their exchange, and an amazing performance by Nichelle Nicols, she explained that her drinking had been the center of her life and she had to leave for his own betterment.

All Neil had ever known (as his father had told him) was that she never wanted to be around them, and he was heartbroken to learn he’d wanted to reconnect and be a mother to him.

The healing process, though difficult, had begun and the two began their final chapter with an embrace.

The Winters family wasn’t just a huge part of the show, but our hearts as well and this is arguably their greatest moment, especially given the timing of its re-airing.
