The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that star Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott) says that while he often gets recognized for being a soap star, it doesn’t happen as often as you’d think. As a matter of fact, the handsome young actor, who plays Kyle Abbott on the hit show, says that he was taken by surprise when a The Young and the Restless fan recognized him in the unlikeliest of places.

Even though Michael has been in a handful of primetime television shows and films, he’s still getting used to the fact that he’s a “television star,” so to speak. When his fans do recognize him whenever he’s out and about, it doesn’t bother him at all. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Michael said, “Once a month it will happen. But when you live in Los Angeles, where other celebrities are out in public, I’m not that surprised.”

Michael says that it wasn’t until he was on vacation last year that a fan approached him and left him as speechless as she was! He further explained, “I was in Hawaii over New Year’s and I was with a family. I had just gotten off the plane and met them at the pool of the hotel.
They said that their goal was for me to be recognized while we’re on vacation. We were at a fancy resort and I said, ‘No way. People who come to these resorts don’t watch soaps. Just minutes later, I head,’ Kyle Abbott?” I turned around and there was this woman with her husband and she was so excited. And so were my friends. The one place I didn’t think I’d get recognized, I got recognized.”
