Y&R’s Melody Thomas Scott was born in Los Angeles, California and started acting at a young age. She began acting when she was only 8 years old as young Marnie in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller, Marnie.
She shares what it was like to grow up in Hollywood and the trauma of her upbringing in her memoirs, Always Young and Restless.
Melody was the last actress to exchange any lines with the famous actor, John Wayne, in her role in the 1976 film The Shootist. During the 1970s she had roles in quite a few movies and television shows.
The role that would define her for a lifetime began in 1979, when she started on The Young and the Restless.
Nikki Reed met Victor Newman at a gentlemen’s club. She was a former exotic dancer and had a rough upbringing. They fell in love and overcame many obstacles in their relationship.
Victor and Nikki were married in 1984 and had several children together. They dealt with various affairs and disruptions that caused turmoil, but they have always found their way back to each other.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Peace for Nikki Newman?
Nikki Newman may be looking for peace in Genoa City, but a peaceful soap opera doesn’t exist. There is no storyline without some chaos and difficulty.
Currently that has taken the form of Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk), who has a bone to pick with the Newmans about how they treated her sister, Eve Howard (Margaret Mason). She is out to get them and make them pay.
Jordan already put that in motion by making Nikki fall off the wagon. Nikki was sober for years, but Jordan got her addicted to vodka again and it has been a serious issue. Y&R’s Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is trying to help her, but she won’t really be free until Jordan is behind bars.
