‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers love nothing more than a celebration episode, and we’re going to get that and more as the Abbotts attempt to heal themselves.
There’s plenty of ways this episode can go, but one thing we’re sure of is it should be a fitting tribute to the character and actor John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).
Without further ado, let’s dive into some spoilers!
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For June 22: Enough!
It looks like Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson)’s war is going to get to the point where Tracy Abbott (Beth Maitland) is going to step in and try to put a stop to things.
To do so, she’s going to send out invites/orders for everyone to attend a get together Tracy is putting together and there are no excuses not to be there.
While it’ll raise some eyebrows among the family members, ‘Young and the Restless’ are surprised it took Tracy this long to reach the end of her tolerance for the pettiness and hate going on.
She’s going to sit them down and do everything she can to get Ashley and Jack to stop bickering and tearing the family apart, and she’s going to play dirty pool by bringing up their father.
She’ll point out how he expected better of them than to let something in the past to drive such a wedge between Ashley and Jack, and this will cue some fun flashbacks.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For June 22: Tribute time!
The current family civil war will be the perfect chance for the show to continue its 50th anniversary celebration by showing plenty of flashbacks as we look back at some of John’s best moments.
While the character was killed off in 2006 due to the showrunner at the time reportedly not believing a man running a cosmetics company was believable, he still made appearances in various forms, mostly as a ghost or a voice over until 2016.
Unfortunately, Jerry Douglas passed away in November of 2021.
This will be a nice tribute to him and, knowing this show, his memory will be what will bring Jack and Ashley together again.
Well, almost. We don’t see her letting go of her blind hatred for Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) that easily, but maybe it’ll be a step in the right direction.
