‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that fans have been expecting Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to get together, however, it doesn’t look like that is going to be happening anytime soon. Not just that, but now Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has been hanging around Chance and sitting in his hospital room forever.
This has led to some controversy among fans, as the Summer and Chance angle is feeling completely forced and unwanted. The writers were preparing us for a Chance and Sharon relationship with all the time they were spending together, then they throw a curveball that makes no sense! Viewers haven’t taken this quietly, either, as they immediately wrote on Y&R’s Instagram post following Chance waking up in the hospital.

Viewers commented on a short clip of Summer waiting for Chance in the hospital, saying, “This was just so completely awkward. And how does the hospital (aka Elena) allow Summer to just walk into his room? She is literally NOBODY to him. Gimme a break 🙄”, and “Ridiculous. Summer does not belong there. Hoping Sharon sets her straight.”
While this may leave a pathway open for Sharon to reunite with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), it feels awkward and forced. Why is Summer always there, and why should he see her first thing when he wakes up? If this begins their relationship together, we assume it’s going to drive Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) insane! He may be acting like a tough guy right now, but when he sees his ex-wife with Chance, it could set him into overdrive.
Kyle is a jealous person and while we still think that he and Summer are ultimately bound to be together forever at some point, he’s not going to take this lightly and will end up fighting for her back.
