‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) did it again. He went against Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) wishes and agreed to Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) offer to take over Chancellor.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Sally Wants Abbott Communications to Work
Sally was excited about her new CEO position at Abbott Communications, but Billy isn’t exactly on the same page.
She’s worked hard to fight for Billy’s best interests alongside his mother, Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton), and his brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Yet, Billy has done nothing to prove himself to her, and now his attention is elsewhere. The moment Cane handed him what he’s been trying to obtain for years now.
Jack rightfully read Billy the riot act in the January 22nd episode of Y&R. Billy’s big brother is physically exhausted watching Billy run around in circles, chasing after his dream of running Chancellor.
Billy repeats self-destructive patterns and is his own worst enemy. He makes choices that violate his loved one’s trust and wants what he wants, no matter who it may hurt.
Billy told Jack he wants to “protect Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy,” but the truth is, he’s power-hungry.

Jack helped Billy fund Abbott Communications, thinking he was finally going to see something through.
Not to mention Sally, who has been bending over backwards to help her man-child boyfriend with this start-up company that, so far, has gone nowhere.
Billy and Sally tend to have the same conversation about Abbott Communications on a loop, and nothing has progressed since.
Sally left her dream job at Marchetti to work with Billy. Sally could be doing what she was meant to do: fashion design. She’s creative, brilliant, and hard-working, and deserves success and the ability to have a career that satisfies her soul.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Sally Told Victoria a Story About the Sewing Machine She Wanted When She Was a Kid
We don’t really think that she belongs with Billy, personally or professionally. She needs to get back to doing what she loves.
A couple of weeks ago, Sally shared a story about her childhood with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). She wanted a sewing machine more than anything, and her father promised to get it for her for Christmas.
Yet, Christmas came, and there was no sewing machine under the tree. Plus, her father wasn’t there either to share the holiday with her.

Sally’s story illustrates the disappointment and trauma she felt as a child because her father broke his promises. Her story paralleled the “incredible future” Billy had promised her with Abbott Communications.
However, none of Sally’s plans with Billy have come to fruition, and that makes her feel like she’s dealing with her childhood trauma all over again, and she compares Billy to her father.
Sally may be trying to save Billy more than she’s really in love with him. She desperately hopes something will change, but it doesn’t seem likely.
Billy has been single-minded about Chancellor for a long time. He’s already accepted Cane’s offer, and he fully intends on going through with it, despite Sally’s pleas against it.
Sally deserves better than Billy, and it’s obvious that no matter how hard Sally tries to save Billy, he’s determined to repeat his mistakes and end up hurting those whom he claims to love the most.
