‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers wonder if Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may be suffering from a mental health issue or if she’s just a hateful and jealous person.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Crashed Christine’s Bachelorette Party
Last week, we saw Phyllis crash Christine Blair’s (Lauralee Bell) bachelorette party, which wasn’t much of a shock.
However, afterward, when Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) confronted her, Phyllis let her guard down and confided in him, pretty much telling him she still hasn’t gotten past being kidnapped.

She still has PTSD from being held in that abandoned clinic with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) by Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins).
Laurent played psychological mind games with Phyllis and Sharon. We could see how much the ordeal affected both women, Phyllis especially.
That said, it’s no reason to allow her jealousy over Danny choosing Cricket over her to drive her to crash her party and ruin everyone’s night.
The kidnapping experience could have changed her and made her focus on the important stuff. She buried the hatchet with her frenemy, Sharon, but remains a broken, spiteful person.
After Phyllis had finished talking to Danny, she started walking downstairs to the Jazz Club and was halted by the sound of Danny serenading Christine with a sweet love song.

The whole bar was singing in unison, and Phyllis had a heartbroken look on her face and walked quietly back upstairs.
It was hard not to feel sorry for her. Christine hit the nail on the head. Phyllis has never had a successful relationship.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Stole Cane’s AI Program
Perhaps that was the final straw for Phyllis, who then lost her mind and stole Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) AI Program. She plans to take everyone down.
Phyllis was eager to use Cane’s AI to destroy every major conglomerate in Genoa City. However, Cane decided he wanted to use the program to improve his public image and try to salvage his family.
However, Phyllis is determined to defeat her enemies, including Victor Newman (Eric Braden). She may take down Newman Media and Newman Enterprises.

It is a common thread in Genoa City that everyone fantasizes about bringing Victor to his knees. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has been trying to do it for decades.
Phyllis is also furious at Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and hasn’t forgiven him for firing her from Abbott Communications. She’ll no doubt want to seek revenge on him as well.
Cane insists he’s done with wanting revenge on his detractors. However, he continues to change his mind about his plans regularly.
Interestingly, in the October 23rd episode of Y&R, when Cane confronted Phyllis for stealing his AI program, she vehemently denied it.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Lacks Character Growth And Maturity
We know Cane doesn’t buy her “I’m the only one who has been loyal to you” act, but Phyllis suggested to Cane that maybe Victor is the one who pilfered his software.
Cane knows that Phyllis wants to go scorched-earth on everyone in town. She thinks many people have wronged her, and no one understands that better than Cane.
If Cane can retrieve the AI from Phyllis and destroy it, it might help change the way everyone sees him.
We have to wonder whether the most significant factor in Phyllis pulling such a reckless move is that she has demons she has yet to face.

The soap seems to continually bring up the fact that Phyllis still hasn’t healed from her kidnapping ordeal. She also can’t seem to be happy for others who have found love and happiness, and lacks any self-awareness.
On Days of Our Lives, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) used to be like Phyllis. She committed some unspeakable acts.
However, after years of therapy, she’s matured and has owned up to her mistakes. She has mellowed out. Sami also apologized to whoever she’s wronged and has demonstrated some serious character growth. She still has a spicy attitude, but she’s no longer a holy trainwreck.
After years of erratic behavior and making mistakes, Phyllis still hasn’t figured out that she’s her own worst enemy and may need some help. Everything stems from Phyllis’s failed love life and her inability to come to terms with the past.
