Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is taking the death of his mother hard. He is upset at himself, and he wants to find someone to blame for what happened to her. He is really struggling with disbelief that she is gone, and he also is upset that he did not try to patch things up with her before she died.
His father, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) is worried about Daniel. He knows Daniel needs some rest, but the shock and strain of this loss is too big for him. Even though Danny hasn’t been a big supporter of Daniel and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) as a couple, he decides to give her a call.
She comes to talk with Daniel and help him express some of his deep sorrow. She sits by while he tries to go to sleep. As he cries himself to sleep, she gets into bed to snuggle with and comfort him.

The news of Phyllis’ accident wrecks Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). He had just finished up a date with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) when he got the news. They shared a kiss before parting and that was the best part of the evening for him.
When Chelsea finds him in the coffee shop, he is in tears. They share their feelings about Phyllis and then Chelsea invites Billy to come spend the night on her couch so that the is not alone.
Something has been brewing between these two for a while. This situation is pushing them toward one another even more. Billy is glad to have someone who will listen and will give him comfort.
