CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers here to close out the week with a tension filled, yet happy ending episode for the Winters Family theme week. Originally airing December 7, 2006, this one focuses on Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) being adopted by the Winters and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton)’s never ending search for answers. Given all of that, a lot can happen in a short amount of time, so we may not want to blink and make sure we have our drinks and snacks at our sides before starting to watch.

We always hear about the various hurdles when it comes to adopting someone, and the Winters have had their share of them, but the final one is in sight. As if the basic process isn’t rough enough, Devon has to speak to a judge and convince him this is what he wants and is in his best interest. Part of this includes the judge asking Devon what his biological parents would think of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. James) and Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) adopting him. It’s a fair question, but one Devon is prepared for.

Still, vocalizing the truth can be hard, but Devon admit that his mother was a drug addict again. He added that she still loves him and wants the best for him since she can’t provide it. On top of that, Devon says he feels Neil and Drucilla are his parents after everything they’ve done for him. The judge agrees and grants the adoption and the Winters head to Gina’s to celebrate.

While the Winters are preparing for a new chapter in their lives, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill are working on their own. This has so much potential for the two of them, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers are sure something or someone will mess it up for them. There are very few pairs that have the tumultuous yet love-filled relationship these two have had over the years, and this is one of their better moments.

Through all of their trials, Katherine has shown remarkable love and restraint by repeatedly welcoming Jill into her life, and this is no different. As Katherine tells her they will always be mother and daughter, Ester Valentine (Kate Linder) wonders what they’re talking about. They tell her it’s nothing she needs to worry about, so Esther turns her attention elsewhere.
This leads to her spotting a famous psychic eating near them. She’s amazed and introduces herself. As they chat, the psychic tells Katherine she needs to get new shoes (her heel breaks shortly afterwards). She then tells Jill to be on the lookout for an obsessive female that’s after her man. Well, that could’ve gone better as everyone knows which woman clicks into place in Jill’s mind. This will lead to more tension and some of their best fights down the road, but that’s a story for another day,
