‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) may soon become desperate enough to make a “deal with the devil” to speak.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick May Have Inherited the Addiction Gene from Nikki
Nick is desperate and addicted to pain pills. The show is slowly laying the groundwork for another addiction storyline.
Nick may even have inherited the addiction gene from his mother, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), whose affection for vodka has been well-documented for decades.

Nick has never experienced the kind of downfall that sends a person spiraling down into the darkness of dependency. However, he may soon find himself on a path to disaster.
We all know that Nick has despised Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) for decades. However, when someone is addicted to painkillers, they can become desperate enough to do almost anything.
What if, when Nick finds Matt, he makes a deal with him for pills? Nick has already turned to the Fentanyl he discovered in his pocket that Matt was going to force Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) to take.
Pain pills can be very dangerous when Fentanyl is misused and not taken correctly as prescribed. However, Fentanyl is a whole other ballgame.
The drug is so lethal that the government is actively pursuing a halt to its coming into this country. Nick knows he’s playing with fire, but he’s already addicted and is trying his best to hide it.
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) already recognizes the red flags in Nick, leading her to suspect that something isn’t right with her ex-husband.

Plus, Nick’s sister, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), has also warned him about the pills. Unfortunately, Sharon and Victoria are otherwise occupied and have some other things to worry about.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Matt Could Soon Become Nick’s Fentanyl Dealer
Right now, Sharon is focused on her mentally unstable daughter, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), after she kidnapped Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

Meanwhile, Victoria is determined to reclaim her father, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) company, after Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) stole it from under him.
Nick’s son, Noah, is enamored with Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and is oblivious to what’s going on with his father. So, Nick is on his own with his addiction for now.
Not to mention, there really weren’t that many pills in that tiny ziplock baggie. With not enough pills, Nick may go on a desperate search for more drugs.
It’s especially risky, given that doctors tend to frown upon people who ask them to prescribe pain pills to them one too many times.
So, when Nick and Matt meet again, will the circumstances get more interesting? If Nick comes begging to Matt for pain pills, that would literally make his life complete.

Matt would love to turn the tables on Nick. If Nick wants pain pills, his enemy would undoubtedly and eagerly take advantage of the situation.
Plus, it would show the audience how low a person with an addiction will stoop to get their fix. Nick’s addiction could lead him to depend on the one person whom he wants to see disappear off the face of the earth.
If Matt becomes Nick’s dealer, it’s going to cost him much more than Newman’s money. It may even cost him his life.
