‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that a villain is naturally a narcissist. So, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) believes she can outwit anyone in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
For instance, Zenk’s character believed Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) would remain under her command despite the shocking reveal. Volunteering that she stole Eve Nicole, the name her parents gave her, from Victoria Newman Howard (then played by Heather Tom) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) was life-altering. But in Jordan’s mind, avenging Eve Howard’s (Margaret Mason) death was necessary.
Jordan blames Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for Eve’s demise. But devoted viewers knew, and newer Y&R fans have learned through flashbacks that Eve and Jordan share a mental illness history.

One of daytime television’s many strengths is revisiting old storylines. And so it is that a character who was not seen for thirty years is part of a current tale.
Mason debuted on the show in 1980. She was one of Victor’s assistants during the early years of Newman Enterprises. They had a one-off encounter that meant everything to Eve but nothing to Victor.
Eve attempted to convince Victor that her child, Cole, was his son. He wasn’t, and that set the soapy stage for all that followed through Eve’s death, which was due to a mosquito bite.

It was great to see Peck reprise his role. Cole, whose father is Rick Daros (Rick Holland, who last appeared in 1984) was not seen since 1999, was lured to the lake house.
Many former characters have returned to GC during this iconic soap’s fiftieth-anniversary year. So, it was not surprising that Claire was confirmed through DNA testing as the assumed departed baby that Victoria (now played by Amelia Heinle) gave birth to decades ago.
It is interesting that Cole told Victoria he planned to stay in town because of all that has happened. This one-time married couple needs to bond with their daughter, see Jordan captured, or, if necessary, permanently stopped.

It was also great to see Hayley Erin (Claire Grace, Eve Nicole) return to the cast. She initially portrayed a younger version of Abby Newman Abbott (now played by Melissa Ordway), last appearing in 2010.
The recast of Eve is inspired as this terrific actor projects a range of emotions that appreciative daytime fans are surely cheering for. As the plot changes to a different tense, Claire can fake Jordan out.
Most importantly, this part of the game must be played precisely. Jordan has demonstrated an ability to do anything to exact delusional justice. The one person who can mentally overpower her is the same one she manipulated and wants to use again on Y&R.
