‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that simultaneously becoming involved with two women is a classic soap triangle. And so Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) finds himself in that position.
Would it be better to describe Chance’s predicament as not happening by happenstance but instead through his own volition? Yes, he is knowingly becoming involved with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) while still romantically connected with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).
A friendship with Sharon developed naturally after her husband, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), died. Chance was close with Rey, and the bond he formed with Sharon after his death turned to romance in recent months.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Summer Newman Sets New Course
The recently single Summer was unceremoniously dumped by her husband during the same period described above. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) behaved like he was in high school rather than living in his early middle-age state.
So, pushed back into the dating pool, Summer found a man she liked. She was aware that Chance and Sharon had become close. But Kyle’s ex-wife could not stop her feelings from forming and, at times, even Summer was surprised.
But Chance is an alternative to Mealor’s character. He also brings fun back to her life, as evidenced by the concert they attended. It is too soon to project whether Chance will prove to be a limited rebound or someone more meaningful.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Sharon Rosales Ready For Love?
It is hard to determine if Sharon is in love with Chance. Based on her deep relationships, it appears he is in the prospect category at this point in the plot.
Losing Rey naturally devastated Sharon. The car accident that killed him produced a deep shock, and she needed to recover. But it happened, and it seemed like smooth sailing with Chance was ahead until it wasn’t.
Loving Chance will require trust. So, Summer’s interest will probably force a decision unless Sharon bows out.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Makes Serious Change
Leaving the police force was a major moment. It would have been significant if Chance remained an officer, but he recently accepted the Chief of Police promotion, a title that Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) once held.
Genoa City, Wisconsin, residents should not willingly make more than one serious life decision in less than a year. Making two or more significant changes can overload one’s senses.
However, this is daytime. So, Chance might follow his move to Chancellor-Winters by breaking from Sharon and going to Summer on Y&R.
