‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers love the growing tension in Genoa City, and it looks like the final pieces are in place for a couple of cool storylines and showdowns.
The missing piece that’s opening up these possibilities is Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) as she’s made her mark in the brief time she’s returned.
Brought back by Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) to bring everyone together at Chancellor-Winters to push Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) out, Amand’s going to have her hands full.
But more than the usual corporate warfare we’ve grown accustomed to seeing more of the last few years, she could also play a big part in saving Genoa City’s biggest pariah Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) from herself.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers – The ying to Phyllis’ yang
Left to her own devices, Phyllis can be her own greatest weapon or her own greatest enemy, and she’s teetering on the edge with the latter.
While it’s great having the old Phyllis back and ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers can’t wait to see what kind of trouble she really gets into, she can be a bit much at times.
It’s a testament to how the character is written as well as the actress’ skill to make us love and hate her with equal passion, but there could be a fly in the ointment of her going full bad.
It took a minute, but Phyillis and Amanda reconnected and it’s fun to see them together. Granted, they have some things to work through, like Phyllis faking her death, but we’re sure they’ll find a way.
It’s part of what Amanda brings to the table, and it’s balance.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers – Earning her pay
They may be good friends, but Amanda doesn’t have nearly the history with Phyllis others like Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and others do, so Phyllis will get a fair and unbalanced evaluation or intervention.
Where Nick and others will either cut her off or try to get her to talk, Amanda is able to get her to open up and she may get Phyllis to see that she’s only hurting herself with her recent actions.
It’s a stretch, but a definite possibility, especially when Amanda sees through her claims to have changed.
They may be good friends, but Amanda’s been out of town and touch for a while so she’s going to have fresh eyes and senses, and we don’t see her falling for Phyllis’ claims.
If anything, she’ll know Phyllis is up to something and may be able to head her off at least a little bit.
Will Amanda give Phyllis the balance she needs? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
