‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers don’t have a lot of surprises in store for this episode, and it looks like it’s going to fall into the category of time eater and character building.
Few things surprise us in Genoa City, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford getting off with a slap on the wrist for what she did is about what we expected.
There are a couple of interesting moments involving her children, so without further ado, let’s dive into some spoilers!
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 9: A thrill ride
Now that she’s cast aside her mom and any hope of getting back together with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) is going to have an abundance of energy and she’ll be ready to turn the page in her life.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will be there to try to slow her down, but he’ll be happy for her as she heads off to celebrate by riding a roller coaster.
Yep, she’s going to a theme park to celebrate her rebirth in an new era for her. ‘Young and the Restless’ have a feeling she’s about to enter a free fall and try to get Chance to drop Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and catch her instead.
What could possibly go wrong?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 9: Daniel gets an earful
In a not so subtle surprise, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will defend Phyllis when Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) complains about her.
Mariah will channel her mother instincts and tell Daniel off for holding his mom accountable for her actions since she knows the lengths mothers will go to defend their children.
We get the feeling it won’t be as harsh as that, but Daniel is in for it.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 9: Free and clear
After pleading guilty and telling her story to the judge, Phyllis will be served with six months community service and a year of probation.
Of course, if she messes it up the judge will rip into her, but Phyllis will be intent on making amends and repairing the relationships she’s destroyed since she learned she can still get away with anything.
This is lukewarm to use since we expected her to get off, but at the same time this is just lazy writing. We hope her redemption arc will be more complex than shaking a Magic Eight Ball.
