‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that some couples can live with or without each other. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) married briefly over a decade ago. It lasted approximately a year. Their remarriage lasted for days.
Anyone can see that these two childish people are fixated on each other. Their mutual immaturity creates a cliched toxicity. One could say they must learn how to get along in clear language.
Contrast the fight cats with two love birds, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Maybe one or both actors were ill when honeymoon scenes in Paris, France, were going to be recorded. Or some other production issue prevented Ashley and Tucker’s honeymoon from being seen in real-time.
If one of the theories above is incorrect or any other is not correct, then the bits and pieces of retrospective honeymoon scenes were purposeful. But what was that purpose?
It was unusual to have other characters in Genoa City, Wisconsin, initially inform the audience that McCall’s remarriage was over so quickly. Viewers had to wait until they returned and watch snippets of what happened in the now ubiquitous black-and-white flashback sequences.

No wonder Tucker is mad. He turned left, and Ashley turned right. He listens without interrupting, and she questions the look on his face.
Ashley agreed to start a company with him. He arguably never insisted that she had to abandon her family, as Davidson’s character claims.
The gist of the above is that Simply Ashley was never going to happen and was just another one of Ashley’s games. She is paying him back for having broken her heart by cheating with Diane, which ended their first marriage. Also, Tucker’s inability to mature into adulthood keeps Ashley on a constant edge.
The new cat-and-mouse game involves Ashley going along with her family’s plan to try to entrap Tucker. She attempts to lure him with their purchased company and plans to turn into Simply Ashley.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Abbott Out Of The Spotlight
Kudos to Diane for staying true to her word. She has behaved generally well since following Jack back from Los Angeles, California. That happened after she used his granddaughter to reveal herself as alive.
Assuming the annulment happens, the focus on Ashley’s ex-husband keeps the spotlight off Diane. Walters’ character will take that on Y&R.
