This is a big change in who he is as a professional. Conner Floyd, talked about this change in direction and hinted at a “whole new” character for Chance.
Conner Floyd is excited about fresh challenges and improvements, and he applauds Chance for this adjustment. He feels that Chance’s past narratives, which dealt with parenting, PTSD, police work, crime-fighting, marriage, and divorce, had made room for a new viewpoint.

When Chance joins Chancellor-Winters, he is not only exposed to the complexities of the business world and his family’s heritage. However, he is also put in the awkward position of working alongside Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Devon was a major factor in Chance and Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) marriage falling apart. They will undoubtedly have more intense interactions now that Abby is vying for a board position at Chancellor-Winters.
Conner Floyd points out that it appears that the Chabby divorce and the affair between Abby and Devon were disregarded for a long time. He questions whether Chance is still “salty” about the circumstances and emphasizes how difficult it is to collaborate with Devon and Abby on a regular basis.
There’s talk of a fascinating underbelly to the plot, along with possible turmoil between Chance, Abby, and Devon at Chancellor-Winters. Melissa Ordway suggests that Chabby’s reunion dreams may be explored in the upcoming year. Leaving open the chance that Abby would fall back in love with her former partner.
